  • Naming what you can see, hear, or feel around you

  • Placing your feet firmly on the ground

  • Holding something comforting

  • Stepping outside or looking out a window

Distraction and relief options

These options may help when you need a break from difficult thoughts or feelings.


You might try:


  • Listening to music or a familiar show

  • Doing a simple task with your hands

  • Engaging in a hobby or creative activity

  • Tidying a small space

  • Moving your body gently

Connection and support options

These options may help when you feel alone or need encouragement.


You might try:

  • Spending time in a safe public space
